Today, when I was preparing for an appointment, I fell in the shower and hit my head on the tub. This is the second time I have had an accident. After the first time, I got a non-skid rubber mat to help the situation. Now, I'm afraid to go into the tub! I have somewhere to go tomorrow! I just need some help thinking about what to do. I live alone. |
Clarification/Follow-up by tutorjb on 01/16/03 9:52 am: Dear Anon., I just thought I'd check with you to see if you were able to get in touch with Assistive Living. I struggle trying to keep from falling every day in the shower and if I fell, would literally die from a blow to the head. I depend on a bar on the side of the shower to stay upright and Assistive Living will install such a bar for you at no cost. The head of the Rehab. Dept. at any hospital that has a Rehab. Dept. should be able to direct you to Assistive Living. If they weren't, ask someone at Vocational Rehabilitation. Voc. Rehab. works with Assistive Living to provide services for the disabled. V.R. is concerned with helping people find employment, of course, but they can put you in touch with Assistive Living or some other organization like it. Please let me know how tfhings are going for you. Yours,
JB :)
