| Too Many Credit Cards |

By the time I discovered it was not good to have too many credit cards, it was too late -- I had already applied for and received too many.
I currently have 8 cards. I heard it is best not to have more than 3 cards.
But I also found out that once you already have too many, it is too late to cancel some of those cards until you have just 3 remaining -- the damage is already done.
So what should I do now? If I keep all 8 cards, will that give me a bad credit rating? Is there anything I can do to improve my credit rating?
