Hi everyone,I make oak gliders, swings, benchs and things like that. My question is on my gliders when a person sit's in it there is a squeaking sound when you lean back and I don't know how to stop it.I put 1/4 inch bolts in the 3 brace's that holds the oak strips to the back, plus I have screws by the bolts so it's not loose or anything like that, but some people make comments like saying that noise would drive them crazy ,so I was wondering if anyone has any ideas on how to stop the squeaking. thanks, craig |
Clarification/Follow-up by wvseagull on 07/02/03 9:40 am: Craig, is the squeeking coming from the slats or from the glider hardware? Does the squeeking occur when someone sits down, without moving the glider?
