Wood Deck bluto 09/11/04
    Hi VG...

Hope you are well, and doing well! How is the voiceover search coming along?

Altho it would be nice to chat, I actually do have a question for you:

For a new, wood deck located in the midwest; typical range of cold and hot seasons, what would you suggest to be the best way to begin care for it?

I have heard the gamut of approaches, and it has been a long while since I have been into this kind of thing. I am a little outdated in this regard, but am trying to educate myself some, and ask questions.

I have heard that I should treat this spanking new deck with this or that, and was even told to not bother at all. I am opting to treat it, but with the new types of materials out there, I don't know which might be best for this climate.

    Do you have any suggestions?

I tend to think....."Thompson's"......but, I cannot really justify that choice. I purposely opted for real wood for the materials for this deck because I actually wanted to take care of it.

The deck will receive afternoon/evening sun, and the deck is attached to the house.

    Thanks....and take care.

    Kindly,
    bluto
