| AN ANNOYING LITTLE DESKTOP GUEST... |

Dear Experts of Answerway, (or anyone who knows, for that matter!):
Sometime yesterday, there appeared amid my many notification area icons, one which I did not recognize! I hovered over it..nothing. I right clicked, then left clicked on it...and finally, the left click opened my browser to a site called "SpyDawn - A technologically advanced spyware removal Tool." It's not enough to trouble me much that I've never heard of the program, or the site, But this little icon in my system tray (it looks like a 'restricted' sign, and a question mark in a circle, alternately!) blinks at me about twice a second, and about every 5-10 minutes...actually, I guess its kind of random...it just happened twice in less than a minute!...that little icon displays a tooltip about 2x4 inches in area!. This has stayed displayed and in my way for as long as a minute, but if I try to capture it, or write down what it says, its gone. If I didnt know better, I'd say it was sentient! ha-ha.
I really don't care much how it got there, except to prevent it from happening again, but I would really like to know how to remove the little bugger...its driving me nuts!
If it helps any, My PC is a mish-mosh of 2nd-hand components, with a pentium III processor, labeled at 866MHz, but just clocked at only 733MHz, 512 of ram installed, a 40GB internal HHD, and a 200GB external connected via usb-1, and running Microsoft Windows XP Pro, with over 80 additional programs installed in the program-files folder alone! (I'm a pack rat...can't bring myself to throw anything out...even the digital stuff!)
I am certainly willing to give that annoying little desktop guest the boot though...if you could perhaps provide me with the door-key! [just a little play on words there...but you get my drift, right? :) ]

Please, if possible, reply to me at my email address as well as the board...I get to doing stuff, and may forget to return here for a while, and I really would like an answer, as soon as one can be thought of! If Not, I understand. Thanks Again.
A SMALL SIDE-NOTE...Just so I don't have to bug you again, hopefully, and since it may be related: If the answer somehow involves unlocking the notification icons in general, there are a few others I wouldn't mind removing (or just MOVING!) as well.....! If it's not related, perhaps an idea for that operation...?
