Hello Mr. Turner,
I asked this question to a copyright law expert also and would like to know your opinion on my question because of your publishing experience. My post was as follows:
I have been reading some books on publishing copyright ( The Copyright Handbook: How to Protect & Use Written Works by Stephen Fishman, Digital Copyright: Protecting Intellectual Property on the Internet by Jessica Litman and Kirsch' Handbook on Publishing Law by Jonathan Kirsh )
and would like to know the your opinion on the following statement and what you think the challenges facing the author/creator and the publisher in the electronic environment.
" Copyright, intellectual property issues and moral rights are fundamental to the livelihood of authors and to the profitability and future existence of the publishing industry. The new technologies, however, seem at nearly every point to undercut the control applied by copyright. "
This question is only to help me better understand the general person' point of view. I am not looking for legal advice.
Thank you for taking the time to read this. Have a nice day.
Sincerely, Conchan
