Personal Leave of Absence for a federal employee.

    I have been a federal employee for about over a year now, and have made it through my one year probationary period. Recently I have been offered a job out of civil service. Currently I am unhappy with my job now and have not had any luck trying to transfer to another federal agency. I would like to take a leave of absence from my federal job to see if would like the private sector job I have been offered. I searched at the opm website about leave of absences but did not find any regulations about it. I wondered if someone new if it is allowed in federal employment.
