what jobs have overnight shifts and don't require any skills netto 03/01/05
I have no marketable skills, and need to find an overnight job.

So far I've tried for overnight stock jobs at supermarkets, but they never call me for an interview.

I've tried overnight residence aide in group homes, but they want you to be willing to bathe, dress, and help toilet people. Definitely not me.

What else can a skill-less person do overnight?

Have you looked into doing security guard work?

      Clarification/Follow-up by netto on 03/01/05 1:18 pm:
      I didn't look into security.

      Is that potentially dangerous?

      Clarification/Follow-up by tarot10 on 03/01/05 1:49 pm:
Not necessarily. Look for something that's on the safe side.

Security guards are used for just about anything now-a-days. Food 4 Less, church festivals, etc. I've seen mostly young women watching the parking lots at the church festivals.

I think security guards are sometimes just used to make patrons feel safe.

You might also look into parking lot attendent for businesses that provide night life activities like restaruants and night clubs.

Check out janitorial/custodial jobs in offices including working for the government. Go to the unemployment office or public library for job openings. These sort of jobs are available at night when employees are not around.

Also check out part time work at fast food restaurants that stay open late or dish washing jobs at restaurants.

Look into all the places you can think of that are open 24 hours a day like hospitals, gyms, restaurants, hotel, etc and call and find out what openings (such as laundry room, cleaning, help desk, answering the phone) they have for the night shifts.

You might also look into factory work. Here where I live many uneducated and unskilled workers earn a living working in a variety of factory work rubber, glass, carboard boxes, cheese, etc where nighshifts are also available. Contact your unemployment office for information on factories in your area.

Take a look at Trader Joe's also. They offer training for their employees.

Just thought of one other place to look for over night work. Check out the airports in your area. They're open 24 hours a day and I bet you can find a nice and comfortable place to work there.
