Hello.
Similar to a previous question, I was on a 3-day road trip, from Phila. to Washington, DC, and then back, this past week.
I don't have the money to stay in expensive hotels or eat in restaurants, so my strategy for eating was to buy three days worth of food at a supermarket the night before the trip and kept it in a cooler in my car. I bought ice bags several times at rest stops to keep the food cold.
But it didn't work out very well. The rest stop ice bags must have had holes in them somewhere because, as they melted, they leaked their water into my cooler and my food. After a while, most of my food was water logged and I had to throw it out.
I was wondering if you have a successful strategy for managing food on a road trip when you don't have too much money?
Thanks,
John
