I was asked to lie to our client. Is it Ok? I work as a project manager for an internet company and I was asked by my manager to lie to a client company at tomorrow meeting with them about our project. I was asked to say that we developed this project BEFORE the client asked for it, so we can have rights for this project, NOT the client. But we started to develop it because they asked us to develop it, the project became pretty good and the management thought that it would be great for our needs also. I am against lie, so I decided to leave the company tomorrow, saying that lieing is against my principals, and I cannot work any more for liers. Then I would gather my things and leave them. I dont care about money or benefits. I will inform our client about possible fraud from the side of our company and start to look for another job. When I am asked on interviews about why I left, I will say the truth. I also think about changing my major career from project management back into programming, because I didnt have to lie back then. Do you think this is a right course of actions for me? |
