Dear kkemper:
So how did Microsoft succeed in spite of itself?
When I studied stock market investing, I found out that small companies, whose stock is called small caps, typically grow very fast, but those are high risk investments because small companies are going out of business all the time due to poor management. Small companies are young companies and their management usually lacks experience.
It is the large companies, that have been in business for a long time, that have experienced management and so large caps are more stable and are safer investments.
Now, if Microsoft is a company that succeeded in spite of itself, then that means their management wasn't necessarily that good. So I don't understand how they were able to succeed and not go out of business. How did they become so successful?
Thanks again,
C.L.
