Chess Strategy Books Ccl471 11/16/03
A good friend of mine learned how to play chess early this year. He would ask to play me all the time because he wanted to get better at it. So I played him and beat him almost every time. But I didn't think I was much better than him, because it wasn't easy for me. Each game it would seem for a long time that nobody was winning and then when I did beat him, it just seemed like I got lucky.

Then he went to Thailand for four months and there he taught his cousin how to play the game and then they played all the time. He just got back to the US this week and then when we played again, he beat me. So maybe he's gotten better.

Well, I want to improve my skill in the game. So I want to read some strategy books. Can you tell me the titles and authors of three strategy books, one for a beginner to get an introduction to chess strategy, one for an intermediate player, and one for an advanced player? For the advanced book, I would love to read one by a Grand Master, so I can learn the secrets of one of the world's best.

    Many thanks,

    C.L.
