How do I choose my scratchcard? denberg 12/24/03
Here in the UK we have several companies offering £1 scratchcards. There is Camelot, which is the largest and runs the official government backed national lottery, and there is Littlewoods, which is a much older but smaller organisation offering a lower prize jackpot. My question is, which should I buy? Is there a mathematical way of guesstimating which of the two firms' scratchcards is more likely to win for me if I buy it?
Look at it like this: Camelot have by far the largest weekly sales, there is no doubt about that. They also have larger prizes, and more of them. But on the other hand since Littlewoods sell fewer cards, does that mean that mathematically I have a better chance of buying one of theirs that will be the winning card?

    Thanks,

    Paul,
    UK.
