Babe Ruth the man whose very name symbolized baseball for millions of Americans and inspired professional ballplayers for generations is now rated ninth among major leaguers by today's big league players.
Only 1.5 percent think he was the best player of all times, according to a poll by Sports Illustrated.
Here's who major leagers thought best fited the description of the greatest all time baseball player:
