What would condtions be like on this planet. arcura 01/25/06
The planet is 5 the mass of Terra (Earth)
It circles a sun much like ours and about 92 million miles from its star sun.
Its surface is about 2/3rd water.
It rotates on an axis about the same as ours and it takes 360 days to complete on near circular orbit.
It has a 30 hour day
How liquid would the water be?
What would the weather be like in the temperate zones?
What kind of life might grow there where a 100 pound person here would weigh 500 pounds there?
What if anything could swim in the water near the surface?
If animals were on such a world what would they be like?
    How high could trees grow?
Could a human from earth survive on such a world?
    Thanks,
    arcura (Fred)

what kind of sun does it have ? Ours is a G2 star. The Sun is about 70% hydrogen and 28% helium and burns anywhere from 5800 Kelvin at the surface to 15,600,000 K in the core.is there an atmosphere that filters the sun's radiation .What is the atmosphere made of ? How many moons does it have ? what is the tidal effect of the moons it has ?Is there another large planet nearby effecting the gravitational pull of the planet ? What is the core composition of the planet ;does it's crust rest atop a molten interior ?

Oops, sorry I should have included that information.
The sun is very much like Sol. The planet has a moon much like Luna.
Other orbiting planets are far distant from each other as in our solar system.
In other words that planet is in a situation much like ours is but 5 times more massive than is Terra.
      Thanks for asking,
      Fred
