Ghouls, goblins and scary things excon 02/12/06

    Hello Christians:

As many of you know, I don’t believe in the existence of God. I also don’t believe in the existence of satan, devils, ghouls, demons, ghosts, evil spirits, saints, fairy’s, angels, Santa Clause, luck and/or all manners of unseen presence’s.

Therefore, when I go out into the world, I perceive that what I see, is what I get. In other words, there aren’t unseen presence’s out there lurking behind every tree plying me with their wares, and waiting for me to falter, all while playing me like a puppet. In other words, when I see a bad person, that’s what I see. I don’t see “evil” - I see mis-behavior. My world is pretty clear, clean and simple. I like it that way.

I cannot imagine what the world must be like to people who believe in all manner beings described above. Frankly, if I thought the world was populated with such evil, I would never venture outside my house.

Tell me please, how do you do it? Did you believe in these monsters BEFORE you believed in God, therefore God saved you from this evil? Or, did you start believing in these things AFTER you became a Christian?

Do you believe that people (like me) who are not Christians, ARE influenced or even worse, inhabited by these presence’s? I know bucker does, but what about the more reasonable among you?

      Hello again, Christians:

Maybe I didn't make myself clear. I'm not interested in what your scriptures say.

I know all that religious stuff. What I was asking about is what it's like to ride a bus, while you think a ghoul is sitting right beside you, or hiding behind that tree? How do you follow directions from your boss if you believe he may inhabited with evil spirits, like bucker and others think I am?

I have employees. How do I deal with co-workers or employees who might think that of me?

I'm talking about every day life, here.

LOL!! Using your examples: I'm sitting on a bus and I think a goul is sitting right beside me. I've never really experienced that. I don't believe in gouls and goblins. I believe in spiritual forces of evil that influence people. I also believe in angels but I've never personally seen one.

I worked for someone once who I personally believe was heavily influenced by some kind of evil spiritual force, maybe even inhabited. He had absolutely no kindness in him. He was outright mean spirited and heartless. He spoke of God as if God was evil. He believed in God but hated His guts. Though many tried to help him in various ways he was seemingly unreachable. Not just in changing his own mind about God but in the way that he treated people and the way that he approached life in general.

I got sick of his retoric and eventually quit the job. It's not healthy to be around that kind of influence on a daily basis. I knew when it was time to go. I heard recently that his business tanked. He drove everyone away with his hateful attitude, both employees and customers.

Excon: "God reveals Himself to a devotee who feels drawn to Him by the combined force of these three attractions: the attraction of worldly possessions for the worldly man, the child’s attraction for its mother, and the husband’s attraction for the chaste wife. If one feels drawn to him by the combined force of these three attractions, then one can attain him."
