HEllo! I monitor your and "pointask" websites. I am using Windows XP and Mozilla Firefox and I.E. Whenever I try to submit a question on "pointask", I get the following error message.
"Error, question not submitted - sorry. Does your browser support JavaScript? [Q:3.9]"
I am unable to get in touch with "pointask". Can you help? Thanks, Regards, rksood. |
Clarification/Follow-up by ScottGem on 03/29/05 3:40 pm: Hi Rk, I must disagree that the other site mentioned has many more experts then here. In fact most of the active experts there also monitor this site and PA as well. Personally, I prefer the structure of this site.

Clarification/Follow-up by ScottGem on 03/29/05 3:42 pm: Hi RK, Just saw your comments. There are several reasons I don't like PA and would not be sorry to seem then shutdown. The main reason is there lack of a followup structure. Many questions cannot be answered simply with one answer. Often there is need for asking additional information or providing clarifications. PointAsk's structure is just not conducive for that type of give and take. For that reason alone it doesn't work well.
I also don't like the ability to ask anonymous questions. I see no reason for anyone to do so, especially for technical questions. By creating a screen name to use you give yourself sufficient anonymity.
Also the rating feature is a joke. By permitting anonymous ratings and not allowing for comments, you create a system just asking for abuse. And it is greatly abused. So much so that its worthless.
I have continued to participate in the site only because of its activity. I would prefer that it die so people will go to sites that work well, preferably this one.
