Them's fighin' words? paraclete 11/19/08
    http://www.smh.com.au/news/us-election/alqaeda-number-two-ridicules-obama/2008/11/20/1226770577520.html

It seems Al Qaeda is on the offensive again, it appearently thinks being offensive to Obama will give it some brownie points. Al Qaeda thinks that Obama is what Black people in this country term a coconut, a person having questionable allegiences to his own race.

This is a strange move for an organisation which is yet to see how Obama will proceed in the war on terror. He certainly has promised to get tough on the Taliban and Al Qaeda in Afghanistan and to go beyond a war of words so prevelent amongst his predecessors. Why tweek the tail on the tiger and elicit a claw and fang response, unless he seeks to draw the US into the same killing field that destroyed the Russians.

It is strange that this missive didn't come directly from Osama bin Laden but from his number two. Could it be that Al Qaeda can no longer fake the tapes now that the US has a new leader?

Yes it is hard to fight an idea, but when the idea is killing all infidels like us, we have no choice. They want to kill us. Why can't you liberals get that concept? That nitwit thinks he can talk to them.

      Clarification/Follow-up by paraclete on 11/20/08 6:34 am:
What's this "you" liberals"? You have forgotten who you are talking too. I have been accused of racism because of my stance against Muslims particularly the Jihadists. I believe the Muslims should stay where they are; in Jihadistan, and I'll happily leave them there, but when they come here and want to change my country into the crap they come from then I say; repel borders.

Iraq, Afganistan and the rest of those benighted, godforsaken, places are exactly the right place for Muslims, as barren as their religion and their attitudes. They are welcome to it

Obama is yet to seperate rhetoric from reality, but I expect reality will take over after Christmas, then we will see if he does a Bush and decides he's defending Muslims. I have some Pakistaniis visiting at the moment and they are amazed at how ordered and clean our cities are and they have only seen the poorer suburbs.

Obama is yet to seperate rhetoric from reality,

the problem is that his supporters were never able to distinguish fanciful flowery rhetoric from reality .

But soon there is going to be some serious buyers remourse in this country .

''But soon there is going to be some serious buyers remourse in this country . '' Were you around in the 60's when nobody would admit voting for Johnson?

''Iraq, Afganistan and the rest of those benighted, godforsaken, places are exactly the right place for Muslims, as barren as their religion and their attitudes. ''

''It is no good coming to Australia we have only deserts and lack of water to offer, ''

      Clarification/Follow-up by paraclete on 11/20/08 8:13 pm:
Labman when I said''It is no good coming to Australia we have only deserts and lack of water to offer, 'I was referring to the possibility of the Maldives purchasing a new home not comparing Australia to Afganistan or the middle east. Obviously we would keep the steadily vanishing fertile places and give the rest back to the abo's not interlopers. This is what we are forced to do anyway. Even the abo's don't want the arabs, etc here. Not on it's worst day would you compare the Simpson Desert with the Sahara or Arabia. Don't get carried away in the romaticism that is the Movie view of Australia

The reality is any country gets the politicians it deserves and the clock has come full circle and America deserves Obama. If he can change some of your attitudes, then good, if not then we will see more of the same, which would not be a good thing

      Clarification/Follow-up by labman on 11/21/08 3:05 am:
Perhaps the abo's should have been more careful who they let in.

      Clarification/Follow-up by paraclete on 11/21/08 4:34 am:
yes the same could be said of the amerindians

      Clarification/Follow-up by labman on 11/22/08 4:07 pm:
''Those hoping that a new president will bring respect and admiration for America are likely to be disappointed. The haters will always find reasons to despise us, no matter who's president.''

They have nothing but contempt for the weak. For the low point of American prestige, how about Jimmy Carter and the seizure of our embassy in Iran?

Reagan and McClain understand those people.
