I would like to offer you correction here, you are prone to do what Bush has done, find a justification for unjustifiable acts.
There is no justification for the invasion of Iraq, Al Qaeda was not making it a base, The link to terrorism was that Saddam was paying a bounty to bombers in Israel. So All the death and destruction was to protect Israel, not a reason that was ever given, just a lot of cover up of the real reason and lies.
In Afganistan, the place was ahaven for Al Qaeda, the Taliban had been exercising their expression of religion for years without interference from the USA. tO suggest now that the invasion of both places was to protect freedom of religion is just rediculous. America doesn't care about the freedom of religion in other countries. They stood by and let Saddam persecute the Shiites. They stood by and let the Taliban take over Afganistan, these are the people they supported over the Russians

''the Taliban had been exercising their expression of religion for years without interference from the USA.'' Yes, and you liberals were screaming for us to do something about their repression of women. Women whose religious beliefs allowed them to get an education were not free to folow their beliefs.
So how much thanks does George Bush get for allowing the women to go to school again?
Facts not fitting the liberal agenda are ignored.

No one argues that religious freedom might not have been an outcome of war in various places or that freedom of the population from repression might not have been an outcome, but to allege that these wars were fought to specifically protect Muslims is an outright lie and not something advanced as a reason for the war when it was proposed.
If the USA and GEORGE BUSH is so concerned about protecting religious freedoms why has it not gone to war with China over the Persecution of Buddhists in Tibet or the persecution of Christians in India, or enforced religious freedom for the Christians of Iraq. The USA stood by and allowed the Russians to persecute Christians for years without lifting a finger why is it important to protect the one group who persecute others throughout the world without mercy because of religion?
Don't be deluded by the BS and sign on to Bush's unholy agenda. This has nothing to do with liberalism but with truth, with currying favour to appease Militant Islam. Britian appeased Hitler and look where it got us. Bush appeasing Muslims will only get us more of the same.

''but Bush said that his country was "protecting" Muslims.
"Through the generations, our nation has helped defend the religious liberty of others -- from liberating the concentration camps of Europe, to protecting Muslims in places like Kosovo, Afghanistan, and Iraq," Bush said.''
No where in the above does Bush say the Iraq and Afganistan wars were to protect Muslins. While destroying Hitler benefited the Jews, it was far from the major reason for America entering the WWII. I really tire of correcting your disreguard of facts.

Yes but it wasn't the purpose it was an outcome
read my response again. a clear clause of the war authorization bill specifically dealt with Saddam's repression of the people of Iraq. Much of the repression had historical religious roots.
