"WHAT IF BEN LADEN WERE NEVER FOUND?" paraclete 11/13/08
    http://news.smh.com.au/world/bin-laden-is-isolated-focused-on-his-own-security-cia-20081114-66ie.html

Not finding bin Laden has become the crutial element in the game of cat and mouse, sort of like a bizzaire where's willie? Not finding bin Laden didn't seem to do George Bush's political career any serious harm. After all he couldn't be less crediable. It remains to be seen whether not finding bin laden will do Barack Obama's career any harm.

It is suggested that finding bin Laden is the CIA's number one priority, so not finding bin Laden must have done the careers of these spooks serious harm. These people can find Taliban leaders and target them with drones with seeming monotonous regularity in the same terrain, yet bin Laden remains invisable. Not very crediable as the highest priority target in the world. Or perhaps he is some place else, watching but safe, hiding under a rock or in his grave. It's impossible to tell whether talk of him being among the Pustin is disinformation or reality.

What if he were never found? will legends arise of him being taken to heaven? It is imperative that bin Laden not be allowed to grow into some sort of Muslim mystic cult figure, he already presents too highly in a world where extremism is seen as a virtue

Somalia ? looks like the India navy is taking charge there :>

Besides when push comes to shove Ethiopia will intervene again (not sure yet if Obama will back an incursion against Muslims) . But maybe we should ....,in the spirit of our new era of international cooperation ,wait until the UN decides to act.....just like they did in Rhwanda and Sudan. Bwaaaaaahaaaaaahaaaaaahaaaaaaaaaa!!!!!

When Bin Laden started his jihad he claimed the US was a paper tiger. If he is alive today he is eating a healthy dose of his own words. Things certainly have changed from the days he chased the eunech Clinton's forces out of Mogadishu.Back then the jihadist ran whatever state existed there . With the US and Ethiopian intervention in 2006 and the emergence of the interim government , the breeding of terrorism at least lacks state sponsorship . Like in Afghanistan;time is needed for the central government to strengthen.

You cannot strengthen what is non-existent Tom. Piracy has become the new industry for Somalia, sort of shop front terrorism with a big money flow and the ability to steal what you cannot buy. So the Indians got lucky. Intelligence suggests there are a number of these mother ships operating. The real navies of the world should have no difficulty locating and tracking them. One thing about Somalia is no one is going to care if the navies of the world use the pirates for target practice, after all they don't have a seat at the table.

Islam has always thrived on societies that are imploding or in crisis. They have 1,400 years of practice at subverting these states caught up in entropy. The ones who successfully fended off the jihad conquest were those who believed very deeply in what they were defending.

      Clarification/Follow-up by paraclete on 11/20/08 8:31 pm:
We have convenient memories, Tom, Afganistan was imploding before international intervention created a puppet government with a tenuous hold on power and no ability to control the country. Somalia needs a similar intervention. Reality suggests both of these places should be left to their fate and if it wasn't for Al Qaeda, which is a factor in both they could, and should be. Islam thrives where the people have nothing, give them the advantages and moderation of a western society and it will slowly die out. To use the words of Imran Khan; these a medieval people. The tragedy is that these backward places exist in a world that no longer understands them or tolerates their way of life

      Clarification/Follow-up by tomder55 on 11/21/08 11:15 am:
Well they got their eyes on bigger prizes than Somalia and Afghanistan. The decay brought about by socialism and humanism has made Europe a prime area to pick off. Already the English are entertaining the idea of allowing Sharia laws in certain communities. In France there are whole areas of cities and suburbs that law enforcement dare not go. I'll stick with the premise that a state of collapse precedes jihad infiltration.
