Yesterday, Grandma Pelosi said "The president knows that because the troops are in harm's way, that we won't cut off the resources. That's why he's moving so quickly to put them in harm's way..."
Really? Does anyone here, even the most ardent critic, really believe Bush wants to put Americans in harm's way? Even so, even if any reasonably sane American believes Bush gets some thrill or is so obsessed with winning or proving he was right about Iraq that he would intentionally sacrifice more troops, should an American congressperson ever make such a pathetically outrageous statement? |
Clarification/Follow-up by Choux... on 01/20/07 7:53 pm: Bush is on a path to try to make something positive our of his DISASTROUS PRESIDENCY, the biggest disaster being his War of Adventurism on Iraq, a war which **he lost** by ignoring the advice of the Military concerning the high number of boots on the ground needed during the occupation and going with the advice of his neo-Con friends.
He is counting on this escalation to do *SOMETHING* positive to make him **look a little better**....to hell with the deaths of additional soldiers and civilians. Too hell with planning a sane Iraq policy going forward. In addition, the Republican Party is in shambles, and it is *his fault*.
