Pizza for Progressives	Itsdb	01/05/07
The Kossacks have apparently anointed John Edwards as their candidate for 2008 and have thus begun a "Pizza for Progressives: the Edwards Edition" fundraiser. This is where you are asked to forego your pizza/espresso/beer and hot dog for the week and donate the amount it would cost instead. I know everyone has their own idea of what a pizza should be but I gotta ask, would it be too hard to pass up a pizza that looks like this? Looks to me like Kos' dog relieved himself on the pizza. So forgetting the fundraiser, how about a pizza war? This is more along the lines of my taste in pizza: California Pizza Kitchen's 'Sicilian' "A spicy marinara sauce with sweet Italian sausage, spicy Capicola ham, julienne salami, Fontina, Mozzarella and Parmesan cheeses. Topped with fresh oregano and basil." A wonderful light, thin, crispy crust and flavors that send my taste buds to heaven. Something I imagine Reagan might have liked. And you? Come on you New Yorkers, I know this is a sensitive issue to you guys.

It is great that I have gotten extra hiking weekends but I do enjoy real winter hikes when there is pristine snowfall in the woods . The local weather gods teased us all last week with a foot of snow but it stopped 30 miles west of us. I was looking forward to a weekend of being snowed in. Was the winning pizza a deep dish NY style (Yorkers call it pizza pie) or a more southern Italian NY style (less cheese) thin pizza?
