>>>What victory? <<<
Well, let's see now.
Saddam's regime finished.
Saddam's "elite" military beaten in a matter of weeks.
Saddam captured.
Uday & Qusay dead.
25 million freed Iraqis.
Election of a new government.
Election of a new constitution.
Improved economy.
50,000 dead or captured terrorists.
Improved oil production, electrical production, economic strength, unemployment, etc.
145,000 trained Iraqi military troops.
Al Zarqawi dead.
and most important of all... not a single attack on American soil since 9/11/01.
THOSE are what we in the real world call "victories". I know that the term is a tough one for you to understand, but keep trying and you'll get it eventually.

And that makes it a 'hostage' situation how?

Jack,
From day one, Bush has made it clear that this war would be a long one. It would not be a quick in-and-out mission and it would likely take years, even decades to win the war on terror. Bush made it clear before we ever invaded Iraq that this was a long-term committment. He said so in every speech since 9-11.
The only ones who thought that Bush was expecting a quick victory were the libs who were looking for an excuse to claim that Bush failed.
I challenge you to show me a single speech or statement made by Bush or anyone in his administration in which someone claimed that the war in Iraq would be quick? Just one will do.
