In these parts that means to 'put down.' You might understand it as 'euthanize.' Crucify or euthanize - same end result.

So you think we're at a point where I "opine that a word or a phrase is capable of only one possible interpretation" - mine - while you interpret my comment one way, that I "put down (my) animals by crucifixion!" I suppose you *might* have a point if I had a) mentioned animals and b) not been exact in my interpretation by saying "same end result," and c) not opined that your interpretation was the correct one.
