Well, it's nice to know that I'm not a nobody. :)
But seriously, if its 40% of the country, it can't be radical or outside the mainstream. And while I admitt to being outside the mainstream, I don't think that the 40% of the people who support Bush are.

ETW,
"Didn't you say the same thing in 2004?
Not only did Bush win the election, but the Republican party increased their congressional majorities significantly.
You were wrong then. What makes you think you are right this time?"
No! Now prove otherwise. I only mention congressmen now because even the republicans admit they are putting distance between themselves and the Bush admin. In the past I mentioned the past presidential election. Go ahead get your pom poms out and rah rah for DoubleScrewed. Yea I was hopeful, but the results turned out otherwise. Unfortunately for the US the majority is slow to learn from the first mistake, but at least we can now be thankful for term limits.
I love myself,
George

Yes, Tom, let's talk about Australian wheat but at the same time let's talk about American farm subsidies. You see it's all about who you pay. You pay the farmers and dump subsidiised wheat on the world market, thereby greasing the palms within the US, all the way up to the capitol no doubt. We sell our wheat on the open market and have to meet market conditions, greasing the palms of our customers. If you didn't do it we wouldn't have to. Interesting isn't it.

I have no problem with Australia . I think our countries have been great allies for a century . I do not dispute your contention about US farm subsidies . I would eliminate all of them . There is a difference in this case as Aussie was illegally getting around sanctions imposed by the UN . Consider that had the sanction regime not failed ;and Saddam had complied with UN resolutions then the war in Iraq could've been avoided.
