Hello jack:
Let me ask you a couple questions. If a country is losing a war, is that better or worse than the press reporting that the country is losing a war? If a country was winning a war, do you think the press can make that country lose that war?
I don't think the press can cause a nation to lose, or win any war. Apparently, you do.

Mr. excon, I just asked a question. My view is that the factions are gearing up rather rapidly into an out and out civil war.
I was hoping for different thought out viewpoints.

I do.
Take Vietnam as a perfect example: the USA never lost a single battle in the war. Even the Tet Offensive by the VC failed miserably due to US military power. We won every single engagement, certainly every single major engagement. We also controlled the air completely, and the NV had nothing to even challenge us with.
Yet we lost the war. And we lost due to the media, who influenced the politicians to take all the wrong stances on the war. We lost on the home front because of the media.
So I believe that the actions of the media do effect the outcomes of wars. And I think that history bears me out.

Excon ;
where do you go when the messenger is framing the debate ? I do alot of digging to find facts that they just outright ignore . These are not facts by gvt. propaganda machines .I quoted a man on the street and a single commentator who is there and portrays a completely different tale then what is coming out of the Washington Post/NY Times.In fact he outright accuses them of lying about the facts ."You are being lied to. By elements in the media determined that Iraq must fail. "
