My favorite activist judge excon 11/22/05

    Hello experts:

How many times have you heard the phrase, “well, if you don’t break the law, then you have nothing to worry about”? When I discuss with right wingers, the inroads law enforcement has made on the Constitution, this is their retort - their only retort.

So, what are they saying? The meaning is clear. I’m a good American. Good Americans don’t need the Constitution, only bad Americans do. Why should I fight to help bad Americans?

Unfortunately, Judge Alito thinks the same thing.

These people kinda miss what our country stands for. If, in the year 2005, they don’t know why they should support the rights of the accused in this country, there is nothing - absolutely NOTHING you or I could say that would change their mind.

Why is that? Because one side is ignorant of history.
