Pretty quiet over here excon 09/07/05

    Hello: excon to republi-cons:

Of course, I'M embarrassed, but I've always known Bush was a dufus. I think his remarks and actions over the last few days confirms that. This time, I think he's done for.

However, I've thought that before, and he's proved me wrong. What do you, the Bush supporter, think? Please don't spin it, like he can't prevent hurricanes... That's just dumb.

In the eyes of the American people, he and his agenda are inseparable. People will quickly forget that they once supported his actions and policies before, and hate everything he stands for now, simply because it's him. It's an immature, idiotic mindset, but it's there.

The people will not seek out facts. They will swallow whatever is fed to them without hesitation. They will not stop and really think critically about the situation. They need a scapegoat and figure he'll do, regardless of whether he's actually guilty of anything or not.

It's interesting to me that our Constitution specifically limits the feds to practically nothing (levying taxes and waging war), but the people have allowed them to creep so slowly into every facet of life, then crucify them for not doing a job well that WAS NEVER THEIR JOB TO BEGIN WITH! This over-reliance on the feds WILL cause the breakdown of the nation as we know it. It will take time, but state's rights (and by extension, responsibilities) will become a thing of the past. Then we will have some form of socialism. But it'll happen so slowly no one will see it coming.

Will he or his agenda survive? Not with Americans being as dependent and fickle as they are now.

      DK

sorry .it doesn't wash you are someone who favors limited government. Do you understand the infrastructure that would need to be in place to rapidly respond to any location in this country ? No one would permit it .The first responders were there ;the local governments have to assume the responsibility . There have been so many distortions about the performance that it is hard to disect them all. No one can sufficiently measure the scope and impact of an event until it has happened . The front line people sat around and assumed the Feds. would be there and ignored their own protocols . That is when disaster was compounded .
