Poker excon 07/04/05

    Hello experts:

On-line poker is illegal. Why don't we do anything about it? People go on television and are proud of the fact that they gambled on-line - right here in America.

Is gambling ok now, since the king of virtue, Bill Somethingorother, gambles his ass off? What if he smoked pot? Would that be ok now too?

Doesn't disregarding that law weaken our respect for the other laws that we're serious about? For the record, I gamble - I smoke pot - and I voted.

Eeegads, a felon voting? Guess, I got no respect.

You are so very right. As long as some "idol" does it, it most certainly makes it ok.

Look at the legacy President Clinton left for the impressionable youth. They think oral sex on a boy is not sex so a large majority of youth are engaving in it because our president taught them it isn't sex. These kids aren't learning to form relationships. And it has done nothing for their self esteem or self worth or their health.

Since the beginning of television, people look to the stars for acceptable ways to look and behave.

I think politicians are dopers and druggies and gamblers as well and you really don't have to worry about not having access to it yourself. It may be illegal to engage in these activities but not enough to make it a high priority in our society to make a strong effort to come after you. So continue to enjoy your pot and your gambling in peace along with politicians and Bill Somethingorother.

And fireworks are illegal in my city, but the law will only be enforced if someone is caught starting a fire to collect money from the person who started the fire. I think a lot of laws work that way.
