Nuclear (now "Constitutional") Option excon 06/01/05

    Hello:

    Yes, I think the filibuster will end. I think the radical right will kill it. I think it should stay, though. I agree with the moderates (although it kills me to say so).

    It really has nothing to do with the present fight over judicial nominations, where admittedly, I do have an interest. It's nothing more than my wish to preserve the nature of the senate. Certainly, the Republicans will again be in the minority, and it should be preserved as a tool for them too (so they can defeat really good nominees).

    Now, my question has nothing to do with what I just said. I wonder what you think it would be like today, if Deep Throat would have kept his mouth shut.

      His situation reminds me alot today of the insiders at the CIA who were bitter at Bush's policies and leaked information to the press prior to the last election . He certainly wan't a saint . He got caught authorizing the break in of the homes of members of the 'Weathermen(so called black bag job).He claimed he was following FBI SOPs.

      What Felt should've done was to confront L Patrick Gray with what he had found out and told him that together they would do an investigation and confront the White House ;or he would go public himself. That is what a true whistle-blower does.

      I think it is hillarious that the liberals in the press today are celebrating this J. Edgar Hoover loyalist and protege as a hero .
