Purplewings,
Princess Diane said in an interview that she never got any sympathy, attention or love from Charles nor the Queen for being sick or for any other reason. I undersrood that her health problems and anorexia began after her marriage as a result of not being treated well by Charles nor the Queen and others in the royal household. She looked healthy on her wedding day. It was after her marriage that her health deteriorated. Her health also seemed to improve after she moved out of the palace.
Also, don't agree that looks gets people more expensive gifts, better jobs, etc. In my experience being attractive is a license for other office workers, family members, etc to go against an attractive person in groups. And attention alone doesn't pay the bills. I think that attractive people are prone to be misunderstood by others by believing that attractive people expect to be showered with expensive gifts, attention, etc more than the average person.
As Chou mentioned, an attractive person still needs to be able to use their brain and have something to offer as in a job skill.
I just thought that more talk about the fact that Princess Diana was not liked by the royal family despite her beauty would show some evidence that looks really does not mean more attention or better gifts, or more love, etc.
I would have expected that the subject would have come up more.
Thank you for sharing your opinion

Tarot10,
I didn't see our disagreements here.
Of course better looking women have an easier time getting jobs, rides and gifts, sympathy, and many other things in life, but keeping those things is another story. Some of the gifts received by beautiful movie stars have been too fantastic to imagine. Even so, they end up divorced several times over later on.....
It's been proven that attractive people are considered more readily for a postion.
A program on Dateline, 20/20 or one of those news programs did research on this and not only were people given more options for being attractive but also for their skin color. When looking through a stack of applications, names that were obviously African American were put aside in favor of those used by caucasians. There are codes used to inform the employer of the other characteristics that cannot be asked.
Of course, if they can't do the job once hired, they won't keep it. Just like marriage, if they have nothing to offer except beauty, the marriage fails.
My point with Princess Di was that Charles married her because of her looks and glamour and did not feel the personality attraction. Perhaps that's why she became anorexic due to lack of love and attention.

Hello !!! Princess Di was good looking true .She was from a privileged background, yet never lost the common touch. She reached out from that position, to remain a modern and committed mother, and a champion of many complicated charitable causes. She gave her time and efforts to over 100 different charitible causes .She was not a stupid bimbo or eye candy. She did a great service to an institution (the royalty ) that is increasingly irrelevent. Her sons would do well to emulate her instead of their do nothing wastral father .
