Does a President have the right to destroy America? |
tsunami |
01/16/05 |
No one voted on Election Day to destroy the Arctic National Wildlife Refuge. But President Bush is now claiming a mandate to do exactly that.
Congressional leaders are pushing for a quick vote that would turn America'sgreatest sanctuary for Arctic wildlife into a vast, polluted oil field. Even worse, they are planning to avoid public debate on this devastating measure by hiding it in a must-pass budget bill.
As responsible Americans can you please do what you can to stop this?
Please go to: http://www.savebiogems.org/arctic/takeaction.asp?ms=RR0501 right now and send a message telling your U.S. senators and representative to reject this sneak attack on the Arctic Refuge.
Thank you, good people.

Clarification/Follow-up by tomder55 on 01/17/05 10:18 am: I would approve of indigenous renewable energy resources but not oil exploration.
you just proved my point. Your concern is not ANWR as much as you are opposed to the continued exploration of oil reserves. Please tell me what "indigenous renewable energy resources "you know of that would replace the amt. of oil consumed to generate energy ;not just in the U.S. but to also fuel all the growing economies in the third and newly developed world ?
Me ;I have no problem finding them and developing them . I have long argued that we should be looking to do so with the urgency of the 'Manhattan Project ' . However ,until that day comes ,then we are stuck with fueling our economy with oil ,coal ,nuclear, and some hydropower .Am I wrong ?
