I misunderstood the question. I thought "What happened to usury laws?" meant did they still exist?
I agree, the laws are written for lenders.
I don't know why we let a lot of things happen.
Why do we not make more of an effort to help men and women who come back from war?
Why do we let insurance companies not pay for my grandson's experimental brain tumor treatment because it is "experimental" and not proven? He has had all convential treatment to no avail. That treatment wasn't experimental but did no good.

Hello again, John:
My question was not worded well.
Indeed. Why do we do this to ourselves? Insurance companies, like the lenders and the pharmaceutical companies have a green light to do with us as they wish. They're people are running the show.
Today, we have a classic example of the fox guarding the henhouse. It's going to come back and bite us.
Hopefully, your grandson lives in a state that has a compassionate medical marijuana law, so he can get some relief. Probably not, though. Only about 10 do. Any drug that can be grown at home and not "purchased" from them must be bad.
Thanks again for your answer.

Yeah. We call them Credit Card Companies.
