I'll grant you the point on the sugar and molasses, though. But then again, I don't eat it all that often. And I watch my sugar intake because I'm high risk for diabetes. Both my father and his mother are type II insulin-taking diabetics, so I tend to watch that.

Elliot, Oh me. Sorry about the bacon thing. I don't like to eat any kind of meat, since I love animals - even though I'm convinced some of them are only here to be food.
My gram died with diabetes when I was a kid. It was horrible for her back then. Blind and unable to walk after awhile - and only in her late forties.
It's easier now with the insulin but still a miserable disease to have.
A little sugar goes a long ways. Now and then baked beans are great - especially with potato salad and cole slaw.
