A Democrat's Watergate? drgade 07/20/04
Is one of John Kerry's advisors going to turn out to be the start of a watergatesque investigation?

Sandy Berger was seen stealing materials from the National Archives. This is illegal. He is now under investigation about the material of former President Clinton's information on Al Quaida:
"some drafts of a sensitive after-action report on the Clinton administration's handling of al-Qaida terror threats during the December 1999 millennium celebration are still missing, officials and lawyers told The Associated Press."

He gave some of them back, but "inadvertently" threw others away.

Want to bet that this doesn't get as much run in the media as Watergate?

from what I have heard it is almost impossible to 'inadvertently ' walk out of one of the secure reading rooms with documents .It just doesn't happen.

The spin has already begun. The Senator from Dakota tells us that the real culprits are those who are trying to make this a political item...shame on them for reporting this to the public.

      Clarification/Follow-up by tomder55 on 07/21/04 10:09 am:

Berger isn't the only Clinton official to face prosecution for withdrawing classified materials from secure premises. Former CIA director John Deutsch who admitted taking home "enormously sensitive material," was pardoned by Clinton for taking home laptops with classified materials in 1996.Deutsch deleted classified information from his computer when he learned that he was under investigation. .

I believe they call those who live by their own rules, Anarchists. This seems to be what we have from the real leftists. They love to make rules and ensnare those they don't like, but feel that the laws can't apply to themselves.
