"WORLD LARGELY HAS IGNORED SUDANESE MASSACRES" Yiddishkeit 07/18/04
That was the headlines by James Traub, an opinion columnist for The New York Times Magazine. What should or can be done about this atrocity that has been compared to the genocide in Rwanda?

we take on missions of freeing oppressed people ,and the world calls us belligerent .We don't act ,and then we are condemned for non-action . no way to win.

It's more that people eye with suspicionn regimes that intervene in the internal affairs of other nation states, when there is a huge economic or political advantage for themselves and then ignore the situation in other areas where there is little or no profit for the corporations that support them.

People do not damn Bush for getting involved in Iraq but for the bald faced lies that he spews forth about his reasons for doing so.

If Bush went into Iraq to save people from opression it's strange that he chose the British as his main ally. They have been opressing the Irish for centuries.

Tom, this is an over-simplification don't you think?

      Hey Sancho, Welcome.

I've been waiting to meet you. In the slam, we refer to a mythical guy named Sancho, who's keeping the wife happy until we get home.

      You've been a busy guy.

Could be, but I'm still waiting for gas prices to lower. The lesser grade in Las Vegas around $2.25 and the premium about $2.38 a gallon. So any advantage their maybe has not filtered it's way to my neighborhood yet...I suspect someone is stuffing the their own pockets, as usual.

Sancho Panza is a mythical guy.

He is Don Quixote's servant and the one person who validates his fantastical reality, which of course ensures the continuation of his own employment!

      Pirates of the Caribbean?
