Gade said it first – He’s right on! excon 06/08/04

    Hello pundits,

    >>>maybe there is more about religion in this war on terror than we dare speak<<<

Gade said it. He’s right on.

The problem I have with Bush, is I’m afraid he believes it too. You don't?

Did I write, "war ON terror"? If so, I mistyped. It should read, "war of terror".

      Excon,

      >>>Yes, I know "their" war is about religion. I was hoping "our" war was about justice.<<<

It's not about "Justice", its about protecting ourselves from attack by terrorists. We are not playing the role of cop and judge. We are playing the role of soldier and protector of our country. And rightfully so.

I don't think protecting ourselves and prosecuting a "just" war are incompatible.

And, you still haven't allayed my fears about GW's born again righteousness.

This is a just war. And there is nothing 'born again' about Bush's righteousness. Unlike Kerry, what Bush believed yesterday is what he believes today and will believe tomorrow: towit - that the USA is NOT and evil empire, that it does have the right to act in its own defense even if it means invading another country to keep them from hurting us, and that the US military is not a bunch of baby killers and rapists.
