Irrisponsible pet owners Laura 08/11/06
This is a question on how to deal in a civil way with owners who will not pick up after their pets.

I live in an apartment complex that allows pets. The problem is that some of these pet owners don't follow the rules. They seem to have no comprehension of the "reasons" why it is important to pick up after their pet.

#1 It's just nasty looking outside your patio and seeing piles of doggy poop. #2, it attracts flies which get into your house and on your food etc. #3 It can spread germs and worms to other peoples pets.

Our dog weighs 100 lbs so there's no way I can just leave her poops laying around. But it's so easy to pick them up. I've even made a habit of taking my dog out at the same time someone else is out with theirs and purposly letting them see me picking up the poop. The neighbor next door finally got the hint when he saw me outside picking up his dog's doody in front of my patio. Now he only lets his dog go in front of his patio which now looks like a mine field.

I guess I'm just letting off steam, but if you are reading this and you don't clean up after your pet, PLEASE DO clean up the DOO DOO!
