Please give this some thought. If you ask me for a piece of cake, would you prefer to receive it from me (A) served on a silver platter with social niceties and a wish for your enjoyment, or will you be satisfied (B) if I grasp a handful of Black Forest Gateaux, squish it between my fingers, and smear it all over your face? Is it preferred for Christians to share the gospel with others using method A or method B? What would Jesus do? References to Jesus cleaning the temple and/or slagging off the Pharisees for their hypocrisies must not form part of your answer. How do you think (chapter and verses please) Jesus wants his Gospel Gateaux presented to make it attractive to those yet to decide for him?

The presentation depends on both the witness and the hearer. Our proclamation is to be both Law and Gospel. 1 Cor 4:19-21 19 But I will come to you very soon, if the Lord is willing, and then I will find out not only how these arrogant people are talking, but what power they have. 20 For the kingdom of God is not a matter of talk but of power. 21 What do you prefer? Shall I come to you with a whip, or in love and with a gentle spirit? (from New International Version)
