HOW'S THIS FOR APPRECIATION: HANK1 09/26/05

From a VOLUNTEER who worked at the Convention Center in New Orleans during the Katrina affair:

"I just witnessed selfish, arrogant, unappreciative behavior by the very people who need help the most. Now these same people who cursed me refused my cities generosity, who refuse to help themselves are DEMANDING handouts on their own terms!!!!!!! They prance around as if they are owed something, and when they do receive a handout, they say it's not good enough!"

The e-mail was forwarded to me by a friend. It was quite long. This is just an excerpt. I didn't post the real disgusting part.

    Any comments?

    HANK

This is a testimonial! Not just a shot in the dark.

I have been reading similiar testimonies and observations.

This all the effect of a welfare mentality which has almost been FORCED on some people for quite a long time.

Since it was posted on the Christian page, it might be well to look at the Christian view of such an attitude:

2 Thess 3:10-13
10 For even when we were with you, we gave you this rule: "If a man will not work, he shall not eat."

11 We hear that some among you are idle. They are not busy; they are busybodies. 12 Such people we command and urge in the Lord Jesus Christ to settle down and earn the bread they eat.
(from New International Version)

This is, of course, written to Christians whereas your post was about people who probably are not interested in God's word.
