Your Birthday Tex78 12/02/05

    Dear Lord Jesus,
as the time approaches, once again, to celebrate your birthday. Some will gather once again in your house to worship.

They will feel much love. Some will gather at the homes of friends and family, around cozy fireplaces. Some will eat a little too much. They will buy each other many gifts, which are not needed. Some will sing praise songs to you and they will feel much love. All will be filled physically, spiritually, or both.

But sadly, many will not gather in your house, to honor and worship you, nor will they gather with family. For they have no family. They will not eat too much, and some will not eat at all. They will not buy things they do not need, or even those they do need.

Some will not feel warmth, for they will have no fire. They will not feel love, for they have no family or friends to love them. Dear Lord Jesus, how do I convince them that they have you, and that you love them so much?

Yes Lord, I know that you will be there waiting, and that you love them anyway. Amen.
    Thank you Father, for
    Your revelations

If you are going to try and correct Liz, you should, at least, know what you are talking about"

Jesus date of birth is simply unknown!!!

"The custom of celebrating Dec. 25th as the birth date of Jesus (i.e. Christmas) did not arise until the third or fourth century. Prior to that time, there are reports of various Christian communities who celebrated Christmas once a year on every month of the calendar, and it was January 6th that was the biggest competitor to Dec. 25th. For the Orthodox Church, January 6th continues to be observed even though most societies today embrace Dec. 25th.
Nevertheless, the significance seen in choosing this time period is symbolic. Why? Because there is symbolism found in the Winter Solstice that marks the end of darkening days and beginning of lengthening light: a sign of renewal. Naturally we would expect to find this type of symbolism in other Ancient religions. For those associated with the Mystery religion of Mithra, this day meant the 'Day of the Invincible Sun' (Dies Solis Invicti); for other religions, it was Saturnalia (Dec 17-24) and BRUMALIA (Dec. 25) which marked the 'birthday of the unconquered Sun'. MY God, at the moment of my creation, instilled in me the impulse toward charity that is unconditional. She knew that the example of a 'cheerful' giver would work more wonders than any individual suspension of the natural order would, or could. After all, we have the example of Jesus purported miracles...they convinced but a handful of the thousands who, reportedly, saw and experienced them.

This impulse toward charity is part of our natures...but it is perverted when we attach conditions to it. When I give to a homeless person, or an organized charity, my obligation is finished. I have not the right to Proselytize helpless people, and I have no right to tell them what to do with a freely given gift. I have no right to judge their condition..I have to right to assume they have brought about their own condition. I have only the obligation to give freely.
      And I like it that way :) :) :)

Have you NO sense of reality whatsoever...How can you dare insult a cold, hungry, homeless, desperately lonely man by telling him..."Not to worry, Jesus loves you. He can't (or won't) lift a finger to help you, but he DOES love you"?????????

I wouldn't be surprised if the poor man picked up the nearest thing to hand and whopped you upside the head for your impertinance!!!!!
