Are all metaphysical views equally credible? tonyrey 05/04/07
    If not why not?

How would you judge which view is the most credible: materialism, idealism or dualism?

      Clarification/Follow-up by MarySusan on 05/07/07 12:53 am:
Why isn't it personal satisfaction....after all, people think that there is a GodAlmighty and that unprovable opinion gives them personal satisfaction, and they get very creative defending this indefensible opinion.

      Clarification/Follow-up by tonyrey on 05/07/07 8:51 am:
You could say exactly the same about any philosophy under the sun. Personal satisfaction is useless unless it is supported by reasoning.

      Clarification/Follow-up by tonyrey on 05/07/07 8:57 am:
I should add that some people think there is no God and that unprovable opinion gives them personal satisfaction, and they get very creative defending this indefensible opinion!

      Clarification/Follow-up by MarySusan on 05/07/07 7:26 pm:
GodAlmighty is the INDEFENSIBLE POSITION. Why are you such a liar?

Not a good quality in a "philosopher".... :)

      Clarification/Follow-up by tonyrey on 05/07/07 7:30 pm:
Such an intemperate outburst simply demonstrates that you are quite incapable of giving a single reason in defence of your views and, as always, are obliged to resort to abuse to conceal your impotence.

      Clarification/Follow-up by MarySusan on 05/07/07 7:46 pm:
      It wasn't an outburst. :)

GodAlmighty believers (like tonyrey) always avoid, at all cost, discussing the FACT THAT there is **NOT ONE SINGLE FACT** supporting Creationism/ID.

You have been avoiding putting your case for the existence of a GodAlmighty of the Bible forward for TWO YEARS!!

      Bye Bye, sucker....

If you use the word 'credible', then that applies to facts, knowledge, and scientif studies stuff tested and retested.

Perhaps, the better word would have been "satisfying"?? That allows for creativity.
