"...hug the tarbaby.." jackreade 05/17/06
Yesterday in his first press conference, Tony Snow used the word "tarbaby" **TWICE**...he's "not going to hug the tarbaby". Well, well well, how interesting that he would dig up a pejorative work for dark-skinned people, a word that sent a shiver through me---tarbaby has the same code meaning as the word n*gg*r has overt offensive meaning. It is that offensive. He used it twice.

But, ya know, I(jack) was "born and bred in a briar patch"* and I'll never stop fighting against racists, OF ANY KIND, by gum.

    jack

*Credit to Uncle Remus stories, where tarbaby comes from, too.

Come on jack, how am I supposed to be outraged at Snow when you won't answer my questions?

Do you feel the same when the term is used in the exact same manner by liberals?

Does it only become offensive when used by a conservative?

What is your definition of racism?

How does it apply to the situation at hand?

Well now jack, what is the point of injecting racism where there is none, and do you feel the same when the term is used in the exact same manner by liberals? Political 'tar babies' are apparently good enough for them, so is does it only become offensive when used by a conservative?

"As many of our colleagues wrestle with Bill Clinton's impeachment trial, a political tar baby if ever there was one, we delight in noting that interesting things are happening in the states."

My point being made, now let me ask two questions.

1) What is your definition of racism?

2) How does it apply to the situation at hand?

This curious mind wants to know.
