Hello experts:
You know what I don't get? I don't get a society that can keep a guy in prison for 24 years (which is long enough for most lifers to serve their time and be released), and then kill him.

ex,
I don't get it either. Any of it. That a 'lifer' can be out in 24 years or that we can take 24 years to carry out a sentence. I figure by that time they might as well commute it to life without parole - but then we'll have everyone trying to drag their case out for 24 years (which they are anyway) and we get nowhere, which is where we are.
Except in Texas, where we do execute prisoners and can now sentence to life without parole - but we now have an entire prison industry and not enough personnel and an unfunded mandate to both pay more for jurors and court appointed defendant expenses.
So I guess we're getting nowhere, especially since the liberal elites have bred an entitlement mentality and no regard for innocent life or personal responsibility in so many. So yeah, we're getting nowhere.
