    Hello,

I agree with Bush. Ok, you can get up now, Elliot. People should be responsible for themselves. My question is this, what are we going to do for those who aren’t, and those who are, but lose their money?

Nothing? They had their chance and blew it? Homelessness isn’t so bad. If we’re going to offer a safety net (and we are, Elliot, no matter what you think), then why don’t we just leave the safety net called SS in place?

Or about those who were careful, but perhaps invested their money with companies like Enron and lost all of thier retirement money.

I thought over all that leaving SS in place was the plan, but allowing a part of the money that was normally paid to SS to be invested into private accounts.

My only thought, if this private investment is so great, why don't we have the goverment invest all of our SS money for us, Then that would take care of the problem.
