Does anyone think there might be civil war coming to the US? With our country so deeply divided over the Presidential race, if we get some terrorist attacks on our soil post election, what do you think the chances are of a civil war happening here? How could our government handle a situation like that and at the same time continue to fight the global war on terror?

Our country is sharply divided on issues, however outside of ill-trust and ill-feeling mainly due to the proper counting of votes. At this point I don't think there is any stimulating reason for a Civil War...hmmm this reminds me of lyrics from a song: "Come on people now smile on your brother, everybody get together and love one another right now." At this juncture the courts will probably be tied up again and we should expect civil unrest with the possibilty of isolated riots. The Iraqi war campaign has complicated matters no doubt.
Powederpuff...You are a very bright person with a good head on your shoulders and you've asked a very good question. Bottom line is that the average American is not so conservative or liberal. I would prefer to have a moderate third party candidate and I'm sure many other would also. No matter who is in the White House for this next term the real question is what happens another four years from now if we don't start compromising and uniting on various issues. Personally I think we are better with Sen. Kerry to do so, yet some people liked the last for years under Pres. Bush...though I respectfully disagree.
