I first heard about gmail when it first came out. I was told if you wanted to get an account you would have to be invited by someone who already has one. Can you tell me more about this? I'm not sure I have the facts right on this and I'm confused. Many thanks, C.L.

Just as an aside. When GMail was still in testing phase, that's when you needed an invite. Once it went out of testing, one could sign up directly. HTH Scott<>
