Using preview window safely luhayes 08/23/05
It has been my understanding that using the email “preview” window confirms a message has reached a valid address, just as much as a message that has been fully opened. Is that not correct? Please explain.

I think it would depend on the e-mail client used. With Outlook (not Outlook Express), it doesn't appear to. I tested this by previewing a note from someone I know automatically asks for a return reciept and the prompt to send it didn't appear until I opened the e-mail. Also, I use a service notifies me if mail has been read. I sent mail to one of my other IDs using it and it didn't register as read until I opened it.
