What's the maximum power I can safely draw out of a 110V wall outlet socket?

It depends on the wire feeding it, with virtually all common outlets being fed by #14, 15 amp or #12, 20 amp. The power is derated to 80% meaning 12 amps or 1440 watts for #14 and 16 amps or 1920 watts. There maybe specialty items rated for over 20 amps at 120 volts, but you may have to check a professional supply for the proper outlet.
As for 10 amp breakers, look at your panel, and I doubt you will see any. |
