If you are planing on a lighting project, you may want to ask some other questions. The sodium vapor lights are good, but produce a yellowish light. The metal halide lights are good, but hard to find outside an electrical supply house. If you aren't comfortable shopping at them, you might do better to go to a home center and look at what they have. Compare the lumens and wattage of the different types. With the ever increasing price of electricity, you want the most lumens per watt you can find. Then try to match the lumens to the light you need. Finally, make sure the store carries the right type of replacement bulbs for the fixture. The bulbs all look much alike, but each type will only work in a fixture designed for it. Make careful note of what you buy. Used only at night, the bulbs could last for years.
A good man at the counter of the electrical supply house, will listen to your description of your needs and sell you the right light. They also should be able to supply the right replacement bulb years fro now when you need one. |
